Is the main purpose of your visit a working holiday?

The following visas that match this criteria:

This visa allows people from 18-30 years old (inclusive) – and Canadian, French and Irish citizens 18-35 years old (inclusive) – have their first extended holiday in Australia and work here to help fund their trip.

With this visa you can

  • do short-term work in Australia to help pay for your holiday
  • study for up to 4 months
  • travel to and from Australia as many times as you want
  • do 3 months of specified work to become eligible for a Second Working Holiday visa

You must

  • hold a passport from an eligible country or jurisdiction
  • be 18-30 years old (inclusive) – except for Canadian, French and Irish citizens who can be 18-35 years old (inclusive)
  • apply online from outside Australia
  • not be accompanied by any dependent children
  • not have previously entered Australia on a subclass 417 or 462 visa.

The following condition(s) might be attached to the visa

  • 8106 – Work limitation
  • 8107 – Work limitation
  • 8301 – Meet any outstanding public interest criteria
  • 8303 – Not be disruptive
  • 8501 – Maintain adequate health insurance
  • 8502 – Not arrive before person specified in visa
  • 8503 – No further stay
  • 8516 – Continue to satisfy the criteria for the grant of the visa
  • 8522 – Must leave Australia with or before the primary visa holder
  • 8525 – Must leave Australia on the date specified
  • 8526 – Let us know where you are living in Australia
  • 8547 – Not work for one employer for more than 6 months
  • 8548 – Maximum 4 months study

  • 8548 – Maximum 4 months study
