General Skilled Migration
The Skilled Migration Visas is aimed to attract skilled workers to migrate to Australia for work purposes. To be eligible for skilled visas you must you must first lodge and Expression of Interest and then invited to apply for the visa. Additionally, your occupation must be listed in Skilled Occupation List. There are a variety of skilled migration options:
A permanent visa which does not require the skilled dependent to be sponsored by a relative or state/territory government.
A permanent visa which requires the individual to be nominated by an Australian State or Territory government.
A 5-year visa that requires holders to live, work, and study in regional Australia. The individual needs to be nominated by an Australian State or Territory government, or sponsored by an eligible Australian relative.
An 18-month work visa for recent engineering graduates.
The permanent stage of the Skilled Regional Provisional Subclass 489. To be a successful candidate you must live in the required region of Australia for 2 years and work full time there for 12 months.
A permanent visa for those who have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in an eligible field. To be a successful candidate you must be nominated by an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, eligible New Zealand citizen, or Australian organisation with a national reputation in relation to your area of talent.
